Living With Boko Haram

Share

I am an anarchist. Never voted and never will. But I must say that for the first time in my 'averagely reasonable individual' life, I find myself in agreement with a Nigerian president. Contrary to popular beliefs, President Jonathan is beginning to show some balls by coming to terms with the realities that shape and govern the Nigerian state.

A brief history:

Nigeria is an unrighteous and hurriedly conceived polygamous union between three unique powers to fulfil a British vision of 'African civilization' —colonization, exploitation and 'democracy' . As a result, the failure of the British Experiment began from its inception. The Yorubas had their own civilization, and so did the Igbos and the Hausas. Western civilzation, we must stress, is in no way superior to African civilization. Technology in fact has made lives more miserable, shorter, meaningless and inhumane than land disputes did prior to our invasion. Isn't it still common knowledge that those in Nigerian villages live healthier, longer, and happier lives than the lot of us cramming non-stop into the cities?

Indeed the West brought us Christianity. In light of the joke that that religion has become, it is now, at least to me, safe to 'assume' that  our fortunes would  have been better had we gone the path of REASON and CONSCIENCE,  especially given that Africans generally fear the 'gods' far more than they fear God or Allah. But thank God for Jesus. We've managed to build vast empires using His holy name. And indeed we have killed and conquered a great deal of people too. To be sure, I am a believer in the Christ, except that, like Jesus,  I cater not for man's religion or denomination. In my opinion, God is not interested in it. Otherwise, what is the point of aiming for Heaven if we can build our own mansions and empires on Earth? What is the point of the fire and brimstone to come if humans can by themselves achieve Nirvana or Paradise on planet? It's a contradiction that begs for an urgent prescription of sanity for those genuinely interested in the faith they profess. Jesus had no religion, earthly mansion or a denomination; and indeed commanded nothing of such.

But let's get to the political issue: Democracy. This is supposedly the better justification for the 'White Man's Burden'. Mind you, the Igbos operated a democracy before the Western invasion on our cherished fatherland. It is still today, the only major tribe where the monarchical power is not as domineering as monarchies can be. The Hausas always loved their religious emperors. For them, like most Muslims, Islam comes first even before nationalism. And the Yorubas have utmost respect for their elders and Obas, who often were wise people with regards to settling domestic disputes and mitigating against injustice. But for the sake of argument, let's call democracy a mixed-blessing. "Better than military rule" many would argue. But there is ALWAYS military rule. America, the supposed champion of Democracy, is a no-mercy heavily militarized nation. In fact, it is more military than it is democratic (in practice, it is impossible to differentiate the two, but I believe the evidence are unmistakably clear for all to behold.) The United States rose to hegemony after supplying the largest number of the weapons used to wipe away over 60 million souls in the Second Great War. And it is simple knowledge that "God's Own Country" was founded on the blood of millions innocent  Native Indians. In its 235 year history, America has been repsonsible either directly or indirectly for the massacre of as many as a billion people. Today, the United States is still the largest supplier of military ammunitions, has the most nuclear arsenals, and together with Israel, dictates the affairs of the world.

Nigerian politicians are flagrantly corrupt but not stupid. They understand the world, I believe, and the difficulty of manuevering their own ship through the stormy waters of International Diplomacy. They understand the hypocrisy of Idealism and the danger of full-blown Realism in international relations. They know that obedience to America, and power-hungry colonial Big Brother, Britain, is key to any meaningful economic progress (see Iran, North Korea, Cuba, Myanmar). The American Establishment is the World Government and whatever its Jewish-dominated elites decide is the ONLY thing that matters. Every other country must, at worst, disagree with 'considerable caution', particular weak countries like Nigeria and other African Nations. For instance when then-president Thabo Mbeki tried to reveal the lie about the HIV=AIDS equation, he was promptly silenced for contradicting "good but highly controversial science".

KeyPoint:

And thus the Nigerian President and Vice President must deal with:

1. America and Britain's painstaking imposition of the direction for Africa [Arab Spring, Somalia, Sudan, South Sudan, South Africa, Kenya, Code Ivoire, Zimbabwe, etc all had various responses, same goal) See CNN Interview Below.

2. the Nigerian and International Establishment (the CABALS, lobbyists, big businesses, Oil Companies, etc) who FINANCED the campaigns, and who OWN virtually all the Major Industries

3. an IGNORANT and IMPATIENT PUBLIC but luckily highly religious

4. An extraoridnarily underdeveloped nation by international standards

5.  their OWN GREED FOR POWER AND PROPERTY.

Hence, the govt spend most of the time busying themsleves with 1 and 2. And 5—seeing that their DAYS ARE NUMBERED (Democratic Rotation; or CHOP-I-CHOP as we call it) . Given the time it takes to satisfy the 'insatiable' Pressure Groups, they conveniently put what logically should be the MOST IMPORTANT STAKEHOLDER (the PEOPLE) into the "Able Hands of God". To ensure this, the government, just like Pre-Enligthenment Western Governments, give tremendous recognition and immunity to religious leaders, and of course, plenty of "Gold-coated Handshakes" too. The religious leaders, supposedly the last resort, consciously and unconsciously divert attention from the government by pointing the People to the Sky. With the Cloud concealing Reason and Humanity, they perfect the mass delusion and oppression by further exploiting the too-awed-to-think gullible members of society.

Just An Opinion

In my opinion, President Jonathan is the most transparent leader Nigeria has had in the last twenty five years. Despite impediments 1,2, and 5 above, he also has to deal with his lack of serious political influence prior to his 'anointing' as the Temporal Dear Leader. He has done pretty well staying away from the political priests who found and ordained him (Obasanjo & Co.), only to realize that it is the easiest of all tasks. I cannot read hearts but there are gestures such as his willingness to discuss with the Public that suggests to me that deep-down this man care about the People, but there is very little he can do to mitigate our plights because of the mannacles surrounding his ambitious hands! Like brother Obama in WhiteLand, the System is just too big for any one man, no matter how noble his intentions may be. You can't win over tyranny. Only a bigger tyranny can overcome tyranny. Revolution is simply the transfer of tyranny.Tyranny never goes away. When God comes, He'll destroy man's tyranny and impose His own Tyranny  (a true Benevolent Dictatorship the Book suggests.) Althought the 1,000 long reign seems more to me like  an anarchical state than a Patriarchal one. But in any case, God is not a Democrat. Life isn't either. That's the way the story goes.

Solution:

Easiest solution: Secession. Even God supports divorce in this case. All parties are cheaters and our best bet is to let each man hold on to his own abode. The Hausas have a right to their own way of life and religion. Democracy is NOT compulsory. No country is genuinely democratic after all. But as you know, the Nigerian Establishment will continue to delay the breakup until THINGS FALL APART  and war reaches our doorsteps.

In the scripture I read today, Jesus made the most SHOCKING speech of His Earthly stay. Consider this:

"Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

"For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end." (Luke 22:36-37)

WAR IS PEACE.

That is the REALITY of human lives. Even Master Jesus came to that point before allowing His Compassion to prevent a full-blown war. But humans are incapable of the same BENEVOLENCE and SELFLESSNESS that Jesus demonstrated. Not even religious folks are worthy examples of the Christ. Hence, the same Compassionate Jesus promised to return to the Earth with total destruction. Because Only wars reveal the truth as they shatter myths and cultural and religious norms.

Nigerians need to relax themselves with one hand to the sword and ENJOY THE SHOW while it lasts. It's going to get even uglier. But it's not over yet! We have always survived the worst of times, 2012-16 will not be an exception!
