Obasanjo, punishing Nigerians for no just cause - Falana

Share

General Olusegun Obasanjo’s cock and bull story on President Umaru Yaradua’s health ought to be dismissed as a belated after-thought of a confused mind.

falanaThe events that led to the fraudulent emergence of the ailing President are too fresh in our minds to be twisted by the architect of the programmed constitutional confusion. It would be recalled that after the defeat of President Obasanjo’s satanic third term agenda he offered Governor Yar'adua the PDP Presidential ticket. On several occasions Yar'adua rejected the offer on health grounds. But due to increased pressure from the presidency Yar'adua reluctantly accepted the offer. General Obasanjo had thought, rather naively that he would remain in charge of the country on account of Yar'adua’s illness. Hence, he imposed Yar'adua on the nation in the do-or-die 2007 General Election. But as soon as Yar'adua was “elected” a gang of ex-convicts and other criminal elements hijacked the presidency to General Obasanjo’s eternal regrets.

Instead of apologizing to Nigerians for his unpatriotic and selfish decision to impose an ailing president on the nation General Obasanjo is asking the Almighty God to punish him if he did it deliberately. Did General Obasanjo not also pressurize Alhaji Shehu Shagari to contest for the presidency when the latter wanted to go to the Senate? Did General Obasanjo not know that he was imposing a reluctant president on the nation in 1979? On the eve of the Presidential election did he not predict that the best candidate would not win the election?

In answering these questions let General Obasanjo pray the Almighty God not to punish him as he has continued to punish Nigerians for no just cause.
