National Assembly blocks jumbo salary probe

The National Assemby, both Senate and the House of Representative are frustrating the efforts of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) to examine their books to determine how much each lawmaker earns.
The commission is reportedly being pressured to drop the probe. Similar probes have failed in the past but the commission says it is bent on finishing its investigations.
The probe has been initiated due to the petitions submitted by numerous civil organisations. Similar petition has also been submitted to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) by Transform Nigeria Group, a Non Profit, Progressive, and Civic Action Organisation of Nigeria at home and abroad.
