President Goodluck Jonathan and Vice President Namadi Sambo were yesterday in Warri, Delta State, for a last minute campaign to return Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan to Government House in Asaba in the Thursday governorship re-run election.

But as soon as the president called for Uduaghan’s re election, supporters shouted “No, no no”. The supporters who put on Jonathan-Sambo T-shirts, said “We need a change now and not Uduaghan.” The president thus started canvassing for himself, declaring that he would want to rule the country  for the next four years.  Jonathan said he had already developed a blueprint for the development of the country. But he still insisted on  Deltans for Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, saying yesterday is for Uduaghan and not his day.

“But I promise and you know that by God’s grace I will continue to be the president for the next four years. And I need able lieutenants like Uduaghan. We want to continue to work with Uduaghan. For the past three years he had been here and has showed that commitment to develop the state,” he said.

The president while urging the people of Delta State to vote for PDP candidates, said governance was all about experienced people and not inexperienced ones.   He declared that what Nigerians need at the moment are people who are already in the business of governance, adding, “This is the time to run” and that they were not prepared to start crawling and limping.
