Dear Mr. President,

We write you as a group of Nigerian citizens with no political affiliation or ulterior agenda that is contrary to your administration's objectives, but out of paramount concern regarding the issue of electricity in Nigeria.

The deplorable conditions associated with the undependable availability of electricity in Nigeria continues to hamper the socio-economic development of the country. The haphazard electricity condition is far beyond an excusable point, considering the staggering amount of resources available to this blessed country to resolve this issue.

We are cognizant of the failed "attempts" of previous administrations to provide adequate and sustained electricity in Nigeria.

The intention of this renewed effort is to ensure that, as Nigeria moves forward under your new administration, the fate of the 150 million Nigerians who are faced with the inherent hardships of lack of electricity that causes - joblessness, crime, sub-standard healthcare facilities, extreme poverty, lack of infrastructure, lower average life expectancy and many more is improved.

This effort is intended to call for a new focus on this issue that affects all Nigerians across social, tribal, economic, political or geographic class.

We will like to formally notify you that the "Nigerian family" around the world is being rallied to come out on October 24th 2011, to present this case as an utmost need that should be addressed, as we believe that solving this issue will by extension curb a bunch of hydra-headed issues faced by the people of Nigeria.

This is a PEACEFUL rally by Nigerians and friends of Nigeria in several cities around the world to express the unity of ALL on this matter, and to make the world a witness to this event in order to enhance the significance of this demand.

We hope the essence of this PEACEFULrally will reinvigorate your intention to work on this issue.

God bless you and God Bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Sincerely,

Doyin Olagbegi
