India police arrest Nigerian with drugs

A Nigerian national, Okoh Ogbannaya Mikel, was arrested for possessing a cocktail of drugs at Calangute village in india, local police said on Thursday.

The 33-year-old was arrested after he was found to be carrying several drugs like cocaine, ganja and charas at the football ground in Calangute.

Police were investigating whether he was a consumer or paddler of the drugs, Inspector Nolasco Raposo said, adding a case has been registered against the accused under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

This was the seventh case related to narcotics registered with Calangute police station over the last two months and Nigerian nationals were involved in five of them, officials said.
