Presidential standard bearer of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), has unveiled his campaign website in Abuja, saying information technology is virtually overwhelming the world.

Buhari said he understood that some people had already opened a website for CPC, advising them to close it and align with the new website: www.buhari4change.com, which he called the official website. He further noted that information technology had taken over the length and breadth of the universe, overwhelming the world.

“Look at what is happening in North Africa and Middle East now. We are very conscious of that and we hope that with your cooperation, Nigeria 2011 election will be so effectively covered so that we don’t allow riggers and manipulators to prevail,” the former military Head of State said.

Buhari further said: “The launching of www.buhari4change.com demonstrates the importance we place on the new media as a veritable platform for change and a vehicle to reach the change seeking younger generations, most of whom are hooked on the information super highways.

“We have also seen the role played by the news media in galvanizing people for change in North African countries in recent times, which have shown clearly that a new society has come, which must be engaged virtually.
