UduaghanINEC has declared the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate and incumbent Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, the winner of the Delta State Governorship election amidst protests by agents of the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP) and some other parties. 

According to the Returning Officer for the poll, Mr. Richard Abhulimen Anao, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan polled 525,793 votes to defeat his main rival in the race, Chief Great Ovadje Ogboru of the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP), who polled 433,834 while the candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Chief Ovie Omo-Agege was only able to poll a meagre 15,526.
